Luca Badetti

Luca  is a doctor in Disability Studies, with background in Clinical Psychology and Theology. He has been a fellow for LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) and The Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. Luca promotes individual and community growth holistically and inclusively.

Luca teaches at Loyola University Chicago's Institute of Pastoral Studies and DePaul University's Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies program. He has recently created and taught the course "Theology of Disability" for Catherine of Siena College - University of Roehampton London. Luca has done research at the Institute on Disability and Human Development (University of Illinois at Chicago).

Luca is involved with L'Arche (communities of shared life between people with and without intellectual disabilities), most currently as Community Consultant of L'Arche Chicago. He has given a TEDx talk based on his community experience called, "Embrace your in(abilities)!"

He is the author of "I Believe in You: Wisdom from community with persons with disabilities on believing in ourselves and the other" published by New City Press.
